Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. A quick apology as didn't make it round all the desks last week as time fled by so quickly! So, what's on my desk.... the question is probably whats NOT on my desk!! Not on my desk are my pens, my guillotine and a load of papers! I ran out of room!! I also ran out of tape in my tape runner so need to go to town and find a stash! Luckily had some larger tape i could use becuase regardless of the fact i make a ton of Christmas cards every January i have run out so need to make another 15 or so and time is running out!

I made a few last night and will make a few today (as i push most of it out the way or into a temp box!!)  Mind you, i quite enjoyed having to make some as i have gotten out of the habit of card making recently so happy with that.

Still not finished inktober, will do them once i finish the cards

So, what's on your workdesk?

Happy hump day! On my desk this week is more mending! Well, sort of. My milk frother broke so before buying a new one i thought i would have a go at fixing it.

Took it all apart, cleaned it etc but sadly couldnt get it working so its gone in the recycling (luckily our council collects small electrics for recycling) and i will buy another. Also on my desk at the back is my inktober tags, i think i only have 4 to do so i really need to just do them!

Hope your all ok and whether its those a bit higher up with the heavy snow and power outages of down here with the awful flooding-stay safe and do share What's on Your workdesk Wednesday.

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. On my desk this week are my new ankle boots, leggings and gloves! Why? Cos its mending time!

I have worn the boots a few times and the very white raised barbour label on the front sticks out and i am quite aware of it as i walk alone in the fading lights (sad but true) so, to not make it so obvious i am painting them out with black paint pens (as you do!). I am also sewing (you can see my sewing box on the right) my leggings (i tend to mend them a couple times along the seams before i chuck them!) and also mending my gloves (again). These have been mended a couple times so are my backup/manky days gloves now!

So, what's on your workdesk? Feel free to share via the queen of desks Julia (https://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/)

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. So my desk this week, no crafting just a mess! Been a bit busy so i plan on tidying it this weekend ready for starting to think about any Christmas makes and also the final push to catch up with my inktober tags, determined to finish them this weekend!

Decided after this weeks news in the UK that i wouldnt do the headline from Man Bites Dog cards! Think we have had enough of that this week!

On a more pleasant note, had to pop into Bath after work last night and spotted some lovely lights so thought i would share.

So, what's on your workdesk this Wednesday?

Hello fellow deskers for what's on your workdesk Wednesday. This week the chaos on my desk is my 365 journal as i need to set the pages up for Novemeber (and catch up on inktober too). I am waiting for the gesso to dry before i can spray the inks across and add all the squares to write each day

I thought i would also share the harvest from the allotment. These are my winter squash, not as many as previous years but they should last us a couple of months.

Also my runner beans drying that i will use to create new plants next year.

Hoping i can catch up on inktober later today and probably over the weekend so will post a catch up soon.

Morning all, on my desk this week-my Inktober tags as I am SO behind but I have taken part for at least 8 years so I am determined to catch up, I am not too far off (think I got up to day 16 so not too bad).  The past 6 years I have completed them on tags as I find it so much easier to hang them on a ring and then hang them from my desk.  I love looking back at the ones i have done in the past.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Nurse Drops Feds Drugs' - well, that is certainly a headline!!

To answer Julia's question from last weeks blog - the glass jar...yes I glued several homemade flowers to the lid and its filled with various sugar free sweets! Well spotted :-)

A quick update for What's on your workdesk Wednesday. Didn't manage to do all my return visits last week, apologies time just got away from me. On my desk this week is just making a quick gardening card for an office colleague who is leaving. Nothing else on the desk crafty as not had time to even so inktober yet (plan on catching up with that this week as i have taken part for years).

Hope your all ok and happy WOYWW

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. Need to fess up, this isnt today's desk but a few days ago. I was making a card for my neices 8th birthday party this weekend so wanted to keep it quiet until she had seen it.

I wanted to make an astronomy style card as she loves the night sky and space.

This was the card i made. Alcohol inks and sprays with glass starts and a moon.  I had wanted to add some foiling but for the life of me i couldn't remember what to do!! I have rolls of thin foil but searched online and no joy!!

So what's on your workdesk?

Morning all. not my usual desk as most of my non working days this time of year is taken up with harvesting and preserving.  Gotta love all the end results of the hard work through out the year.  I make lots of jams, chutneys, cordials, fruit vinegar's etc  to see me through the year and now made some piccalilli (made it a couple of years ago for the first time).  Didn't have any cauliflower (the plants take up too much room on my allotment so I tend to buy them as and when we need one)  so bought one from the greengrocers to add to my own produce of tomatoes (red and green), yellow courgettes, onions, garlic and beans.  The piccalilli is a little darker than usual as didn't have enough sugar so had to add some dark brown sugar but sure it will be ok.

Harvest of yellow courgettes, purple climbing beans, raspberries, plums and apples.  This is my first time for years trying to grow cucumbers and this year these outside have been brilliant, called majestic cucumber, I have picked at least one a week for the past couple of months so will deffo be growing these again!

also been super impressed with my toms this year (all grown outside). This is the final harvest as blight has hit.  The garden pearl (small cherry toms) are gown in handing baskets and the tigerella toms I grow each year as they are nice as fried green tomatoes (not this year as they have nearly all ripened!!)  Not sure what to do with them all as I cant be bothered to skin them all before processing so lots of chutney and brushetta I am guessing!

Hope everyones week goes ok

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. Just back from my summer break from work and managed to go to london for a few days. Lots of new street art, art exhibitions and of course a visit to Kew gardens

That means i am a bit behind, so on my desk is my 365 journal and my bullet journal as both need to be sorted so I can catch up for my October entries. Also need to catch up with Inktober as really behind on those too.

My 'man bites dog' cards this week "bored blonde suspect angry (angered?) Thousands'!!  Well, will watch the court reports with interest!

Happy hump day and What's on your workdesk Wednesday where we share via Julia's blog (link over on the right). This week my workdesk is actually my dining room table.

Hubby finally found a replacement Harrington but when it arrived the inside pocket hadnt been sewn up! It took him so long to find the waterproof version rather than returning it i decided i would fix it myself, hence the sewing machine!! I did notice the pockets were only sewn with straight stitch at the bottom so to add a bit more strength i did sew a zig zag so am hoping this lasts.

No 'man bites dog' cards this week (forgot) but i also did a little sewing in the garden!! Admittedly it was stringing up my homegrown chillies for drying!! The pin cushion was a gift a few years back from Lunch lady Jan and still going strong!

WOYWW

Happy What's on your Workdesk Wednesday.  I have stuff on my desk!!  I thought I would try to get a head start and at least get the base layer down on my 365 Journal in readiness for September.  I am almost out of gesso (which I use as a base layer as it helps stop the coloured inks bleeding through the pages) so I do need to go to the art/craft shop-shame!!

My "man bites dog" cards this week are "Scam rips off exec teen!"  well,  in that case not much chance for the rest of us to be honest!!

I thought I would share a couple of other pics, at the weekend I caught the bus to Clevedon.  Its probably the closest beach to Bristol and only 40 min on the bus!  I have NEVER been there before (no idea why) but Bristol Urban Sketchers, of whom I have been a member of for probably more than a decade, did their monthly meet up there.  I was blown away, an amazing town.  A fantastic pier where I sat and sketched for a couple of hours, plus we found some amazing food for sale (lunch sorted) and some amazing walks and a sea infinity lido too!  We will certainly be going back.

clevedon pier

I also thought I would share my latest harvest from the allotments.  My allotment neighbour kindly gave me some flowers and I picked a LOT of yellow courgettes (I have picked even more since this photo 2 days ago!), patty pan squash, beetroot, beans, cucumber, tomatoes and sweetcorn.  All grown outside with no greenhouse etc, am well chuffed.  I also managed to share some with other plot holders and also took a bagful up to my local food bank for them to use too.

So, What's on your workdesk?  Do share as we love to see the inspiration, new stash and ideas.

Morning all, hope the weather hasn't been too bad for you all if you have had time off?  On the plus side, haven't had to water the allotments as much.  Downside is the slugs love this weather!

One my desk this week are some off cuts I have separated into files depending on their colours (almost smacks of me tidying the craft room-shhhh, don't let that rumour spread!).  Must admit I do find it easier if I do this when I need to make a quick card.  Also on my desk is my blank bullet journal that I am catching up on and my "man bites dog" cards this week are "Heiress falls for naked hero!"

I was lucky to have a day off last week and for a change it was mainly dry so we drove down to Sidmouth folk festival for the day and caught up with my mum too.  Its the festival 69th year and something I have been attending for about 10 years or so and love the real mix of events you get,

I sat in the sensory garden listening to sound checks taking place on the main stage (Barbara Dixon was playing that afternoon) and decided to sketch what was in front of me!  We were also able catch up with a good friend who works there (and is in an excellent punk band my hubbys band  has supported).

Back home I picked this harvest from the allotment.  Radish, radish seed pods, plums, berries, herbs, edible flowers, green and red lettuces, patty pan summer squash, yellow courgettes and purple climbing beans (already picked a LOT of runner beans too).  Must admit the courgettes and beans often get shared with my neighbours and have taken a couple bags into work to share amongst my colleagues too!

Happy WOYWW on my desk today (well, last night) is a  card I am making!  I know, not had a chance to make cards recently, happens the same every year as the allotments tend to take a lot of my time but with the rain we have had I have pushed myself to get back into crafting.  I enjoy it so I should do it more!

I am using old music score as backgrounds at the moment, I have quite a lot of them so thought I would start using them.  I love the feel of the older, thinner paper in my hands and some of them do bring back memories, especially if they are pieces I remember playing when I used to play the tenor horn as a teenager.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are " Tough Strikes Saves Heiress" :-)

Happy Woyww and for once i have new stash! I know, its a bit rare for me to buy anything other than glue or envelopes these days as i have SO much stash to use up. But, i SO couldn't resist these!

So, there are 2 watercolour paint booklets on the desk. These are brilliant, thin squares of paint on card made into a booklet, perfect for my urban sketching when i like to travel really light. I saw these on a small stall when in London last week, i wasnt looking for anything i was just cutting through when i spotted them!

Another thing i spotted was this busker and immediately thought of fellow desker, lunch lady Jan! Brass instrument but with flames blowing out the top! I am sure Jan's crafty brain can figure out how to make this, lol!

Thought i would share a few other photos in case anyone is in Bristol during the summer there is a unicorn trail in the city.

I have seen quite a few (as well as the gromits and also gorillas in london last week) but its still lovely to walk round a courner and spot one!

My 'man bites dog' cards this week are 'tough mob boss drops girl!' Mmmmm.

Ah Wednesday again, my desk is rather a mess to be sure! The flat laps we have had for many years have been repaired several times and now they need gluing again! To be honest they are more glue and filler than flat lap so i think this will probably be the last time i can repair them, but hey ho, they will do for now!

Forgot to grab my man bites dog cards this week and to be honest what with everything that has been in the news this week that's probably not a bad thing!

Not a desk, but last weekend i was lucky enough to see Blondie (again), Iggy Pop and Billy Idol in Generation Sex and as it was a whole day gig i took my urban sketch kit!

What i hadnt seen at a gig before were performance interpreter's. Just in front of me were 3 of them who signed the entire gig, including air guitar, drums and head banging so you could follow the rhythm. I know very basic bsl, having done a couple of courses and a lip reading course but i struggle to remember but boy, they were fascinating to watch, especially the more 'fruity' lyrics!

Right, back to fixing stuff and airing the craft room as boy that glue does honk!

Happy hump day where we share our desks across the globe! So, what's on your workdesk Wednesday? Well, this was last night and i am trying to get a head start on my 365 journal page for July (July??? How on earth did that happen!). I  am trying to use up my old inks, these  dont even have the sponge applicator and are probably about 7 yrs old!! Nearly finished them and i find i can squeeze the ink out and flood the page a bit to move the colour round. My 'man bites dog' cards are 'model defends lover again' !

I thought i would share my crafting from the weekend, i popped to seaton (love getting the tram from Colyton to seaton) and sketched in the cafe where i had lunch (indeed the staff recognised me from my previous sketching from their terrace!) They mentioned 'we have a new blue brolly since you were last here, why not sketch that!' So i did!

Then i went for a walk through the park and gardens to one of my favourite spots where i sat and sketched the view.

Bliss, take your mind away and lets you chill.

Morning all, just a quick update from me (phew its SO hot here in the UK at the moment, hope you are all coping ok?).

On my desk (last night) i am making some cards as my stash has gotten low.

My 'Man Bites Dog' cards this week are 'missing tycoon snubs singer!'.

Thought I would share a quick update on the allotments too. Catching up with transplanting and starting to harvest strawberries, red currants, radish, onions, lettuce etc and broad beans will be ready soon-love fresh broadbeans so a little excited for that!

Nasturtiums are flowering (i eat the leaves, flowers and pickle the seed pods) and beans are starting to climb! Happy days.

Morning, hope those in the UK are enjoying the sun? It's been lovely for the past week, including the bank holiday! Lots going on at the allotment and garden meaning my desk has been left empty! Well, apart from an empty page in my 365 journal in readiness to decorate ready for june (june already???! Well from tomorrow). I have gesso'd it so it's all prepped ready to decorate.

I did manage a trip down to the beach the other day and sat and sketched a couple of scenes in my travel sketchbook.

My 'man bites dog' cards this week are Nude Tourist Sues Hubby! Well, i will be watching the local news with interest!

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. On my desk today are some lovely ATCs from fellow deskers. Bottom left is my official ATC from the oh so talented Tracy which also came with a card saying 'on the days when life seems toooo much remember you are not alone. Hold this card and feel the love that is surrounding you'. How fabulous is that? Next to the card is an ATC from the amazing Jan and behind that is an ATC from the talented Helen.

On the rest of the desk i assembled a series of items i keep close by from WOYWW friends, badges, tag books, aliens, lino prints, a framed die-cut butterfly and a whole book of ATCs. Love it, so inspiring.

WOYWW 14th Anniversary

Happy hump day and What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Started 14 years ago by Julia and Jan and boy, its been a blast.  Over the years I have made new crafting friends across the globe and been lucky to meet up at crops and catch ups over the years with several other deskers (and sadly lost a few over the years, but they will always be remembered).  They have taught me new crafting skills from paper craft to convincing me to make a quilt and handbag (looking at LLJ!!) as well as top tips, storage tips and of course "enabling" of new crafting stash (looking at Helen and Mary Anne in particular).

So, on my desk last night was this!

I know, bit odd!  Cleaning up glass jars ready for jam and chutney making season, and must admit crafters companion is easily the best way I have found to get those really difficult and pesky glue patches off jars.

Also using poundland gel nail remover - basically a quid and pure acetone which is perfect for removing stubborn marks so perfect for cleaning my plant labels ready for their use.  I do have wooden and bamboo ones but must admit I still use these thick plastic ones as I get quite a few years use out of them whereas some "creature" has nibbled the top of some of the wooden ones I use on the allotment!

At the back of my desk is my sketch book with last weeks bicycle I sketched at the Emily's Notebook zoom drawing lesson she runs each week.

Hidden behind the acetone are my ATCs!  Only made 4 so really sorry wont be able to do a return swap as already got 3 ear-marked and 1 for my offical "swap".

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are the headline 'Model Tells on Dead Star' - well, that could be a LOT of people!  I will watch the 'news' with interest ;-)

WOYWW

Morning, just going to start with an apology for not managing all the return visits last week.  I have been a bit pressed for time as two assignments are due for the course I am doing so they have taken a LOT of my spare time after work meaning when I do get some down time the last thing I want to do is go back onto a screen!  Anyway, this weeks desk was taken last night, nothing crafty going on at the moment just my laptop stand and my mouse, all my paperwork is pushed onto the floor as there isnt room on this little tiny desk.  But, main thing is from next week I should be able to get back to crafting and I cant wait!

Also hope you all have a fabulous Coronation bank holiday weekend, whatever you got up to.

The eagle eyed amongst you may spot the ATC's pushed to the right (I plan on finishing them today) and at the back is a roll of correction tape!  I still use a fountain pen to write and the liquid correction isnt great with fountain ink but the tape rolls seem to work!  Old skool I know!
So, whats on your workdesk this wednesday?

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. Only a quick update from me as rather tight on time with the pay the bills job! However, updating my 365 journal (only a couple days late so chuffed with that). Also on my desk are my stencils as i have used one of them for my ATCs in readiness for the anniversary swap.

As to the Man Bites Dog cards, well probably best i dont comment BUT my thoughts go straight over to the States!!

Also, for those that asked for the dandelion honey recipe from last week, this is the one i use (old skool, written in a book!). Pull off the greens as they can make them bitter, other than that, its quite easy and tastes delicious.

Hump day so that means sharing our desks and look, stuff!! Can't remember the last time I used embossing powder!! Rather than stress about doing a theme for the atc's i just thought i would use what i had to hand. Only probably making 4, but hopefully they will be finished in time.

Also on my desk is my sketchbook, last wednesday evening i did another online sketch class from Emilys notebook and it was sketching farm animals. I dragged the book out yesterday ready for this evenings class. They are great, one hr a week, on a wednesday for free.

Here are a couple of other makes recently too, below is my first dandelion 'hunney' of the year. It makes a lovely fake honey like syrup with such a fragrant taste and scent.

Also, this time of year is ransoms aka wild garlic season and about 15 mins walk from my house is a great off road huge patch so i can go and pick a few times across the season. I have dehydrated 2 containers worth and am making a couple jars of wild garlic salt. That will be enough to see us through the year and adds a lovely hint of garlic.

Soon i plan on starting this years chutney  and jam making sessions as the rhubarb is starting to sprout freely, i have already frozen some rhubarb so chutney making is calling for the next batch.

So, what's on your workdesk Wednesday?
