Happy Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

On my desk this week are a couple of cards I am making from some die cuts I made AGES ago from (I think) Shaz Silverwolf at a previous crop.  I cut loads and have a few left.

Doubt I will be able to make Septembers get together (though you never know) but it was nice to use these as it brings back some great memories of the day.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Blind tourist Tells on Singer'!  Well, not quite sure what to make of that one, maybe time will tell!!

I actually finished a card

So, as I explained Wednesday I am trying to reduce my expanding scraps box so decided to try and make a card a week from them.

This is the one I started on Wednesday.  The offcut on the left was a masterboard I made a few months back with some embossing paste through a stencil.  I then matted and layered it on some holographic paper I had left over and stamped and die cut a greeting on scrap paper.  I then added some stickles for a bit of bling.

There you have it, a card and a small amount of stash from my scraps box used up.

To be honest I doubt my challenge to make one a week will continue very long-but at least I made a start!

Hump day so that means Whats on Your Workdesk Wednesday when we all pop over to the Queen of Desks the lovely Julia here and bare our desks.

I am determined to get back into crafting and spending some time on 'me' rather than just the pay the bills job and house chores. 

I decided to try and make cards from the ever expanding scrap box so set myself a challenge to make at least one a week.  So at least I have made a start!

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Angry Wife Bites Judge'-well, that sounds like something off one of those TV shows like Judge Rinder!

Art Abandonment at Upfest

 The other weekend we went to Upfest in Bristol.

It is Europe's largest Street Art Festival and this year was the 10th Anniversary.

I will do a proper update of the art work once I have downloaded all the photo's but I thought I would post the art abandonment's and Free Art Friday drops I made during the festival.

This was a small stencil of a spray can on a brusho background

This was one of my hand carved stamps of a fire demon on a inked background

 and other one of my fire demon's but this time on a tag

my final piece was left at the suffragettes yarn bomb!

 Hello peeps, just a quick update on some cards I made recently.

I used some papers and stamped the golfer image and coloured in with pro markers.

Not much to them but a great way to use up various bits of stash from the ever growing pile!

Trial prints

So, on Wednesday I shared my latest purchase, a brass printing plate.

This was a print using a thick acrylic on paper.  I don't have a burnisher so used my stamp cleaner as its padded and reasonably thick.

The paint was too thick and grainy I think (it was old) and not sure it prints well on paper.

So I tried it with a newer acrylic black paint and this time on card and the detail is much better.  Still need to experiment and keep trying but pleased with this one.

Apologies in advance as I was not able to return my WOYWW visits last week, things got the better of me and before I knew it time slipped away.

On my desk this week (clean as once again I have NOT had time to craft) is a new purchase.  This is a brass plate (not sure if its for printing, rubbing or something else).  I found it in a charity shop in Petersfield the other week when I was visiting my brother.

A bargain at £5.99.  Not sure if I can use it but it looks so nice I had to buy it!  I am sure with some printing ink it will print fine.  I don't have any at the moment so I am going to try it with some acrylic paint and see how that goes.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Hubby Dumps 1st Lady, falls for Czar'!!!!
