Woyww

Happy hump day so that means sharing our desks for What's on your workdesk Wednesday. Been absent for a while as the pay the bills job has been hectic so this is only a quick update.

On my desk last night was some upcycled Christmas cards. Each year I try to make about 20 Christmas cards by the end of January. That way come November when panic sets in and I look in my Christmas paper/stamp box I find about 20 cards already made!! Panic over!! I have been doing this for a few years now and it seems to work for me so I plan on continuing.

Happy crafting and stay safe

WOYWW

Morning all and the first What's on Your Workdesk of 2021.  On my desk this week (albeit on Monday as I had a cheeky day off) is my new 365 Challenge journal.  I have been doing Kate Cranes original challenge for about 6 years or so and can usually fit 3 years worth in one A4 book.  This year its a new book - ooh clean and not covered with sticky stuff!! That will NOT last long before it is covered with glue, spilt paint and glitter!!

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are "Brave Hero Drops Secret Thousands" - well I am thinking of people like the actor Michael Sheen who has been instrumental in supporting the Big Issue and Homeless World Cup in their assistance to homelessness in the UK and also people like Marcus Rashford the footballer and amazing game changer for hunger and free school meals (and making our Government change their minds!). There have been some amazing acts of compassion in the past year.

One other update is that once again hubby and I did our Gratitude Jar.  Every year we do this, its an old coffee pot covered in gaffa tape with a bulldog clip inside holding some cut up paper (you know, those pattern paper sheets we all have in packs that we know we wont use so I cut them into large stamp sizes) and a biro.  Then, when something we are grateful for happens we make a note of the date and what it was.  It can be something simple like a walk and hearing the birds sing or maybe a meal out etc.

Then at the start of the new year we sit down and randomly pick them out of the pot and read them out.  Little snippits of gratitude throughout the year.  Either way we have done this for a few years now and I was determined to continue it though out 202 as I felt we needed to be reminded of some of the nice things that happened.

I think we were both surprised as to how many there were in the jar at the end of year.  Now I admit there is NOT as many as previous years, but considering the year we have all had I was pleasantly surprised.

We have started 2021 Jar already and plan to continue.

Happy New year one and all
