WOYWW

Hurrah I am back in the driving seat and cracking on with 2017!!

So, its the first Wednesday of the year so that mean we all join Julia (link over in the side bar) and show What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.

On my desk this week is the start of my next 365 Journal.  A few days late but I have been doing these for about 6 years.  I noticed they are starting to take up precious room so I thought I would try and cut back on their size and use the final pages of my 2016 journal but only A4 for each month rather than a double page spread.

This means that one journal will cover two years.  In an attempt to get ahead of the game I thought I would decorate January and February (mid decorating when this photo was taken).

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Romantic Actor Sues Hubby'-watch this space eh?

A mini book make

Hello, just a quick update as I realised I hadn't shared a recent make.
I made this mini book for a friend a couple of weeks ago (waves at Julia!) and used mount board for the covers stained with distress inks and some clear crackle paste.

I made concertina pages which I decorated with distress inks and various images and quotes.

Just a small, simple thing but great fun to make

February 365 Challenge

Hello peeps, its almost the weekend!  Woo-hoo!!

Today I thought I would share my latest month in Kate Cranes 365 journal challenge.
I have been doing this for years and all it takes is a small drawing or sentence to sum up your day.  Once your months page is prepped it only takes a minute which is why I probably have stuck to this challenge for so long!!

My pages were coloured with TH distress stains then I overlaid a circle stencils and sequin waste which I inked through adding a few stencilled numbers.  I then added some white acrylic with an old gift card and then added the date squares and doodled a border.

I then stamped the month in black ink.  Coloured it with red posca pens and added some red stickles glitter (I bought it over 5 years ago and its STILL going strong!),  I stamped and cut out some hearts and doodled string to turn them into balloons.
There you have it...all 29 days ready for February.

November 365 Journal

Just a quick update as I have actually finished my November 365 Journal pages in time for November and more importantly I even remembered to photograph them before I filled the squares in!

The page is coloured with Dylusion sprays and a few TH die cut leaves added with some other leaves stamped with archival inks in various colours.

I doodled around each of the squares with a black pen and stamped the dates-all ready to fill in.

WOYWW

Not been about for a couple of weeks as the pay the bills job and a few weekends full of "doing" stuff meant not much time for blogging.

However, I am back and on my desk this week is....a watermelon 365 journal page!  Previously I thought about doing ladybirds but when I realised my circle punch would NOT go through the card I had to use my scalloped punch so decided watermelon slices with bites taken out!

No man bites dog cards this week (I forgot to pick any!).

June 365 challenge

Hi peeps, been absent for a while as I haven't had much time to craft recently.  But I am now making a conscious effort to craft at least once a week!  Now I just need to find time to blog too!!

I forgot to post my June 365 journal!  So here it is:

Nice and sunny with a plane to represent when we flew off to Malta for our holidays!  As usual its coloured with Dylusion sprays as I love their bright colours and that they are still reactive to water so I can spritz and flick to my hearts content.

I am up to date with writing the daily bits for July but I am still to decorate the pages but hopefully I will get that finished before the end of the month this time!!

365 Challenge

Hello peeps.  If you are in the south of the UK I hope you survived the storm.  The wind howled and the rain chucked it down, but luckily everything in chez Kyla was ok, though my heart goes out to those poor souls who lost their lives Monday during the worst of the storm.

A few people have been asking how I am, so I thought I would do a quick update.  Following my ankle operation, the stitches are out and all healed and the physio is working me hard to try and get as much movement and stability in my ankle as possible-so fingers crossed it will be better than before the operation.  My rheumatoid arthritis means that I am totally exhausted but I am definitely getting there-so a huge thanks for your kind thoughts.

Now, onto the crafting stuff, in the drug haze I forgot to post October's 365 challenge page!

I am really pleased that I have been able to keep up with the journal.  For full details you can visit the highly talented Kate Cranes blog here

Right, its getting bloomin' chilly here so I am off to put the heating on and some fluffy socks!!!
Stay warm and happy crafting

365 Journal days

 Happy New Year everyone.

For the past 12 months I have been taking part in Kate Cranes 365 journal challenge here

Its the first time I have done journaling and its defiantly the longest I have ever stuck with anything!  A whole year!!

Here is the roundup of my year

The Olympic torch came through our village....it was great to see the streets lined with people and everyone cheering
My book started falling apart in Jun so I had to wind some fancy wool around it to hold it all together!

Nice and 'hot' colours for August....just to remind me that it is actually summer....wettest one for more than 100 years, west country flooded again!

I couldn't resist adding some leaves and apples to September's page....apples are so important here in the west country....cider!  Drink of the gods!!

Then it starts all over again (albeit in a larger journal so I have more room to decorate!)

For those of you who have been thinking of joining in...I can thoroughly recommend it, once the page is decorated each day only takes a minute....and its been great reading through the years enteries and remembering what I have been up to (memory isnt quite what it used to be!!!).

Happy Crafting
