A very hot woyww

Hope everyone is coping OK with this next heatwave? I am not going to lie, it's not easy, the humidity and my immune conditions means its hard but hey, it could be a lot worse. missed last week as pay the bills job is long hours and very busy at the moment....but, thought i would sort my urban sketching kit out and take advantage of the weather and wash my white towelling wrist band (a freebie from the council for advertising their gym years ago). never user their gym but it was free and perfect to wear on my wrist as a watercolour brush cleaner when sketching in town!! Not been washed for ages so well overdue!
My 'Man bites dog' cards this week are proper headline material!! Wife Dumps Killer Nurse!!! Stay cool and hydrated kyla

  1. Happy slightly cooler WOYWW!
LOL! Fab use for a sweatband - not sure The Hubster would be OK with me snatchig one of his Basketball ones for paint cleaning but hey ho. The whole summer is a heatwave, but at least the nights (here) are cool enough to take down the temp in the day. Withouth that, we would melt....

  2. That’s the best use for a wristband yet lol! What a great idea, saves carrying rags or tissues etc. Even though we have a sea breeze here, it’s still too hot for me…I’m moving to the Arctic!

  3. Great use of a wristband as long as you don't use it to wipe the sweat away! Stay cool if you can. Helen #1

  4. That’s a great use to dab your brushes on.!
I can imagine the result if you did what Helen said to avoid, you’d be painting yourself!
Seriously, though, a damp flannel on your skin when it gets unbearable can help as the evaporation cools you a bit.
    Keep cool and happy WOYWW

  5. I thought you were going to say the sweatband was the perfect thing to wear in a heatwave, but I'm delighted with the much more practical use you have for it. I think I need to pass that tip on to the artists in the family! Your Man Bites Dog made me chuckle :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #12

  6. I don't like this heat either, I still have loads to do in the cabin but it gets too warm in the afternoon so going through a box of old magazines which I can do in the house. It seems such a shame that it's bright and sunny but just too hot to go out. Take care and wishing you a happy woyww with hugs Angela x8x
