WOYWW

Happy hump day and What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday. The past few weeks have been super busy with work and also the allotment.  I have been making a LOT of chutney, pickled nasturtium seeds and jam.  At the weekend I made another batch of courgette and ginger jam, which has been a go to recipe for me with the allotment as there are often a lot of courgettes!

I don't tend to print much stuff at the moment so printing preserve sticky labels every couple of weeks (which is what I was doing last night when I took this photo) is a way to make sure the printer ink doesn't dry up (as it did last year and we had to replace it even though it had hardly been used!  I was NOT impressed!!) .

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are ' Cruel Exec Sues Hero'!!  Not very pleasant but they were the random cards I pulled from the pack this week!

So, What's on Your Workdesk this Wednesday?

  2. That is the very reason why I don’t grow courgettes, I’m the only one who likes them, there’s just no point wasting growing space! You are being very productive with the preserve/chutney making, my friend is much the same, her beetroot chutney is food of the gods, especially in a cheese butty!

  5. I think that is trouble I have with being away from home for several months, I nearly always have to put new ink when I get back. I have decided to go for a new printer so I can make use of HP instant ink programme. I need new inks so a new printer isn’t too much more! Sounds like you are busy with your jams and chutneys. Have a great week Angela. #9

  6. I had that problem with our ink jet printer as I only ever used it for printing on fabrics and iron on printer paper which obviously is not something I do regularly so when I went back to it the ink had dried up. I believe it is possible to remove the ink cartridges and store them to prevent this from happening if you know you are not going to be using it for some time though I also believe there are new types now that don't have this problem. Wishing you a very happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

  7. Who’d a thought of courgette and ginger jam. I bet it’s lovely, even though it doesn’t sound quite right. Do you have it on toast or is it used like a chutney.
    Have a good week

  8. I’m slightly ahead of Lynn, Ive at least tried courgette and ginger jam. For me it would much improved by replacing the ginger! Ha! Glad your allotment has yielded so well, tomatoes have been difficult in this neck of the woods.

  9. I love reading about all your produce and pickling activities, Kyla. I am sure when it is all done, it must be so satisfying seeing all those gorgeous jars, so neatly labelled, lined up on the shelf ready for the winter months.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  12. All those jams and chutneys and gorgeous goodies. How fab! Why are the MBD cards never about gardeners? I can't recall one, but them I am new to it. Enjoy your allotment and all the cooking. Wish our toms would redden and ripen - fried green tomatoes are not my first choice!

    Happy so very late WOYWW.
