Twofer

A twofer, two cards for the price of one (well sort of).
The backing paper was a 12x12 sheet that I no longer needed so decided to use it for cards.
The card on the left has bakers twine, a couple of tags that I stamped Mr and Mrs on and added a small gemstone on each.

I added some lace to the bottom of the card, and there you have it a wedding card!

The card on the right has a repurposed black felt coaster cut up and a stamped sentiment which I matted and layered.  Sympathy cards are difficult to make so I was pleased I was able to make this one.  It was also timely as not only did we find out fellow WOYWWers Janet sadly died recently but also my cousin, only  2 yrs older than me died suddenly 2 weeks ago so I was able to send this to my Uncle.

Plain and simple card

Thought I would challenge myself to a quick make!
I decided to make a single layer card in under ten minutes.

This is what I came up with

I made a mask from waste paper by die cutting a large hole in the middle then stamped some script through.  I stamped the seed heads and sentiment and added 3 black pearls for a touch of understated luxury.

Plain and simple and I think is suitable for those difficult occasions when I really
struggle to find a suitable card.

Finding the right words

Not blogged for a while as it was hubby's birthday and I was busy planning (and celebrating of course) so I thought I would do a quick update.

I was looking to make some Mothering Sunday cards the other day but instead ended up with a sympathy card!!!  I have no idea how that happened, but those sort of cards are always handy to keep and never easy to make so I suppose it was a win/win in the end.

I have also spent a lot of my free time over the past week sorting out my craft room and stash as we had some new storage delivered so I hope to share that for this weeks WOYWW if you'd care to pop back then.

Hope you have been having a lovely weekend-I went on a leather workshop yesterday and today have been ironing and catching up on missed episodes of the Great British Sewing Bee - rock and roll!!
