Oops forgot it was Wednesday so a bit late in posting What's on your workdesk Wednesday!
On my desk this week i am playing with trying to capture figures better when i am sketching. Still got a long way to go but its not like i don't have the blank sketchbooks to fill up!! Seriously, i am like a sketchbook hoarder!! Mind you i only have one water colour pocket one so that is something I need to buy!!!
So, what's on your workdesk this Wednesday? Dare to share?
Kyla
I saw this article on the BBCwebsite about things you could do to stay positive - get out walking, talk to people etc etc but the thing that resonated with me was Do It Badly - ie, try something new and don’t fret if it’s not perfect, just give it a go. So my aim for next year is to do more sketching and watercolour and it doesn’t have to look like Rembrandt!

I think your sketching is fab! Maybe I should take a leaf (or pen) out of LLJ's hand and give it a go next year. We'll see! take care and stay safe, and continue enjoying your walks - I love to see them! Wishing you a happy and healthy new year. Helen #5
ReplyDeleteI think your sketching us pretty darn good. I'm useless at drawing do I won't be joining you and Jan - I'll just enjoy admiring yours instead. What we do have in common is that we hoard notebooks - I can't resist. Happy New Year. Elizabeth x #32
ReplyDeleteI love your sketches and envy your talent - I, too, am a notebook hoarder, and I fear I have passed it on to my daughter. And so it goes....
ReplyDeleteHappy (almost) 2021!

ReplyDeleteI hear you with the sketch books Kyla, i've had two more arrive today, they need a room of their own. Have fun with your sketches it's such a beautiful way to create. Happy WoywW & best wishes for 2021 Tracey #7
ReplyDeleteHi Kyla, hope you will forgive me for being so late this week. Sending New Year hugs and happy belated woyww wishes, Angela x17x
ReplyDeleteWell, they aren’t stick men and they look like people with clothes, so I think you’re winning already! Perhaps you should employ one of the sketchbooks for just figure work, they don’t all have to be watercoloured! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWow! Your sketching is already excellent. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. Praying for a happy and blessed New Year for you and yours. With love & God Bless. Caro x (#16)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are both notebook hoarders... well can you have too many?

I am with you on the sketchbooks (and watercolourbooks) waiting to be filled. I have decided to stop converting old books into art journals, having said that I have several sheets of white thin card (approx 30 x 24 inches) that I decided to use up, so this week I made the basic structures for 3 albums out of one sheet and today I made nearly 3 art books for collage , half way through the third. I cut off a few inches, so the finished size is approx 8 x 10. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year Angela #14
ReplyDeleteYour painted figures are brilliant, Kyla! Very well done. I am sure your sketch books will soon be filled with lovely art works!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW and happy New Year,
