WOYWW

Morning all and if you are joining for "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday" then hello!

Rather than just my workdesk I thought I would show how it looks after my day off last week when I decided to tidy it.  Well, I was going to do the desk only.  This is it all stripped off and blue tack peeled off and cleaned etc.  BUT that spread out across the week and weekend and I ended up clearing the large bookcase next to it, then at the weekend the smaller units and a hidden one that is behind!  I have only just got it all back together and I haven't even started looking at the unit on the left where I store my dies, papers, resin etc!!

I thought I would organise my findings and embellishments too (WHY????) and decided that the bottles my tablets come in would be perfect storage!  All labelled, really pleased with these and how they turned out.

Stumbled across my mums old sewing box from when we were kids, brought back SO many memories, mainly of mum having to sew yet another patch on my trousers!

This is the after shot, yes I know it doesn't look much different BUT there are a few empty drawers in the small sets in the bookcase and now I know where things are!

A few of the gifts I have been lucky to receive from fellow crafters over the years (sorry I cannot remember who this is from, but I loved it and all these years later it is still on display)

This amazing tag book I think was from angela the crafty cat and in the background is my first time printing, the black pointed finger I think was Donna (adoone thing) at a WOYWW crop many years ago too.

and in the middle is  a cut away book swap in 2015, with Sarah, Carmen and Jaz who are all talented artists which was based on Discworld (love Terry Pratchett)

So, bit of a cheat this week as it is my desk today but also a catch up!

Happy crafting
Kyla

  2. What a lot of lovely memories you have to look at there Kyla. And what an achievement when you did all that tidying. Funny how one place leads to another and another and before you know it you are knee deep in tidying and it is almost bedtime. Much easier for you to find things now and the tablet jars all labelled up are so neat.
    Stay safe and well

  3. Now that is such a productive use of your time and you must feel so organised and ready to start a project. I always discover things that had disappeared into the dark recess of my cupboards only to be moved to another cupboard. Good use of the tablet jars.
    Stay safe.

  4. I do love having a good nosey around someone else's desk and your's was a good un! The organisation is great and I think using those tablet pots was inspired - I do love knowing where everything is so I don't waste time searching for stuff!

  11. Hi Kyla, great shots of your workspace. Good job on the organising too. I remember Donna doing that printing at the Crop meet! First one we attended I think. I have some little tubs to sort small embellishments into that I want to get round to as well. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

  15. I love the idea of using the tablet containers. They look great. I had to laugh because I cleaned up my craft closet a few weeks ago and I thought it looked great but I think my husband thought it looked similar because I have a lot of stuff. The key is that I now know and see where everything is. So I totally get it. Only crafters understand what clean means. I love seeing your mom's old sewing box. I was so thrilled when I was able to have my mom's button tin. It was such a fun thing to peek through when I was a child. Stay well, my friend.

  16. I think many crafters have taken this time to organize and purge. I know I have some boxes to go to our local thrift store when they open. Love your mum's sewing box.
    Have a great Easter!

  22. Well, you’ve certainly done a deep tidy. Funny how the mood gets on you once you start. It will be a pleasure to sit in there and feel a little smug that you know where stuff is for a while. Or forever if you tidy as you go. obviously that was an afterthought for me, I’m not capable!! The pill tubs look great, I’m fascinated that you have so many small embellishments. I might need a close up!!
