WOYWW

Hello peeps, I admit this is my desk at the weekend as I have NOT had any time to craft as the pay the bills job has been full on and I have had to cancel my leave so only got a chance to do a quick couple makes at the weekend.

On the plus side I did manage to make a couple of cards from my scrap box so that was good.  If I recall these booze labels are actually a wallpaper 'sample' I think I picked up last year (I presume I am NOT the only crafter who takes their scissors/pen knife out and ensures a nice clean edge to the paper when they take the free 'samples'?

Now this isn't my craftdesk or from today BUT I was SO proud that I thought I would share!
On Saturday I made my hubby a Vegan afternoon tea.  I have never made one before and I didn't buy anything so just used what we had in and adapted.  Now, to be honest I rarely bake.  It is not that I cannotit is just that I don't enjoy cooking any more!
BUT, this was a challenge and I enjoyed it

I made wild garlic scones, coronation chickpea sandwiches, vegan "egg and cress" sandwiches, smoked "salmon" and cream cheese on oatcakes, choc muffins, fruit scones and biscuits!

Kept me busy for a while and I was impressed with the taste, may even do it again at some point!

Anyway, what's on your workdesk this Wednesday?
If you care to join us there is a link over on the right, we are a friendly bunch!

Happy crafting

  5. Hi Kyla. Two fun cards - and lots of work to make your afternoon tea. Trust it was a gloriously fun occasion. It seems that many who are actually in work at the moment are pretty full on - even busier than normal!
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  9. Mmmm, like the sound of coronation chickpeas zI must say. Well done you, bet it was a lot of work to make and bake all that from scratch, however much you enjoyed it! And erm, no, I don’t take a knife or scissors with me. I can’t actually even remember the last time I looked at any wallpapers at all!!

  12. Yum Kyla.. that vegan arvo tea sounds really yum! Well done you! I'm a bit ambivalent about cooking, too. Not familiar with being offered samples gere but diubds a good crafty idea .. we aren't ironically allowed knives or scissors in our bags though.
    Sorry for late visit! 😊
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless and keep you and all whom you love, in these changeable times. For as Paul said: "We walk by faith, not by sight."

  15. Hi Kyla, not sure what's going on but I am sure I left a comment on your blog but it doesn't seem to be showing - I've noticed this with a few others too. Anyway, I shall try again and hope it works this time! As you will know from my blog, I am really into whole-food plant-based, so your vegan tea is fascinating! You have made a wonderful spread and it all looks delicious! I also love your DIY cake stands - so clever! I used to do a lot of regular baking, but since taking my weight in hand, and trying to eat whole-foods, I haven't really done any apart from a couple of recipes for no-bake brownies sweetened with dates, and my regular savoury crackers, and more recently, seeded oatcakes. I shall definitely have to explore this further, I think.

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  16. Thanks for your return visit, Kyla - like you I have kept the excess weight off, and being pretty much 100% whole-food plant-based really helps with this. I love the idea of the coronation chickpea - of all the legumes, chickpeas are my favourite. We used to eat a lot of coronation chicken in the old days, usually as a topper for baked potatoes. Perhaps I should rethink that idea! Since starting this, I have really enjoyed the adventure, exploring new recipes and ideas. It's not just good for you, it's fun too!
