WOYWW

Hurrah, I am hoping that normal service has been resumed because, get me...I have been able to craft AND blog!!  I know, pride comes before a fall and all that, so I doubt this will last long, but hey...I may as well brag whilst I have the chance!

So, on my desk this week are a couple of cards I am making, top left is my kitchen roll that I use for clean up and is dyed BRIGHT orange because I have just sprayed my August 365 journal background pages. I tend to keep these inked kitchen roll sheets as they make lovely backgrounds in their own right.

Also on my desk is the tape gun I won at the WOYWW crop (thanks to whoever donated/bought that....I have been using it TONS!) and just underneath it is my Sheena Gouglas fake leather experiment that didn't turn out well as I didn't have any spray and shine so used spray varnish!  I ended up clear embossing over the top and I plan on die cutting it so it won't be wasted (us crafters HATE waste....I think we are really the best green crafters as we tend to upcycle and reuse so many items in our pursuit of crafting).

My "Man Bites Dog" cards spell out 'Crazy Mayor sues 340lb cop!!'....I am not sure I would call our mayor of Bristol crazy...but lets see what this weeks headines  bring and I will pass judgement then!

These are a couple of the cards that I managed to make today.  I used TH smudged stamping technique on the tags with some stickles glitter on the Vegas and some glossy accents on the cherries.  I embossed some white card with the BINGO embossing folder and ran some red and black ink over the surface.  I added some distressed mini playing cards to one and a casino token on the other.

So, if you fancy a legal snoop at desks across the globe then pop over to the lovely Julia's blog (link over on the right).

Happy crafting
Kyla

  2. Ooh, like your cards! My son would like those, he's a mad keen poker player :-) great cards for blokes, I think!
Isn't it great when you find a tool just fits into your workspace so well? My revelation was a really good quilting ruler..daft, I know, but it makes life so much easier!

  5. I LOVE my ATG - but have two, the old yellow one and a pink one, so by passed it for a crochet book :) Love the cards. Actually that bingo folder works fab if you make a pile o' thermomorph and roll it thin, then emboss it with the folder. You can cut out the sections and use them as fun number embellies. The FREE SPACE square is good too :) Love the cards. So YOU!

    Happy WOYWW!

  6. I am not keeping up to date - need to get out more. LOL
Not a clue what the 'smudge' technique is but I do like your cards. I love Vegas and they took me back to the last time I was there.

  10. Hi Kyla, love the cards! You've reminded me that *somewhere* I have a pack of mini playing cards, some mini dominoes and dice retrieved from Christmas crackers as 'they will come in handy' For collecting dust, at the moment, lol. Haven't set eyes on them for a couple of years! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #64 xx
