WOYWW

Hello peeps and I hope you are as well (mentally and physically) as can be expected in these unusual times?  So, after a hectic few weeks I got some crafting of sorts done!

My rhubarb this year is very poor but a fellow allotment plot holder kindly gifted me some of hers so I set about making some of my chutney.  This was last night and my "desk" is the kitchen but at the moment I am full on with work so have only had the odd evening I have been able to catch up.

The great thing is that the chutney will be for next year, sadly not enough for the usual Christmas presents I make, but just about enough (hopefully) for us (I do like chutney!)

So, What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?

Kyla

  2. I love rhubarb. A friend brought a few sticks, newly pulled, the other week and it tasted beautiful. Not enough to make jam or chutney but enough for a delicious crumble. Not wishing to sound a heavy or binge drinker, I love my rhubarb gin. It is going to come in handy over the next few weeks I can tell. I bet your chutney is gorgeous, enjoy some yourself today.
Take care and stay safe and well Hugs, Neet xx 7

  4. Hi Kyla. Oh, my mouth is watering - always loved chutney. Used to make so much jam, chutney and jellies... leave it all to the daughters now. But well done - hope it does indeed keep you going. There should be more rhubarb to come yet, shouldn't there? It's a long time since I had an allotment and grew things...
Take care. Stay safe. God bless.

  6. Love rhubarb especially in pies and crumble. Used to grow it when I lived in the UK but it won't grow here in Spain and it's something you just don;t see. Stay safe and indoors. Ani#14

  12. MMM yum!! That sounds really yummy. I have been preparing items for freezing to avoid having to have a grocery run. I have been crafting and reading a lot. In another month I will be able to head out into my garden but I have plenty of things to occupy me inside. I have been sitting out on my deck when temperature is decent for about 10 minutes each day to get fresh air. It is so important. We have a large yard and enclosed deck so when the temps rise, I will be able to spend more time outside.
    Stay well.

  17. I’m amazed that you don’t come home from work and fall into a stupor of sleep and comfort! Good on you gal! I love a chutney too...I always feel you can put anything you may not really like in a chutney and it will taste good with something, My Aunty Kay makes a killer runner bean chutney...everyone turns their noses up at first, and then I’m left with an empty jar, BBQs just wouldn’t be the same without it! I don’t much care for rhubarb, but I know I would like the chutter! Glad you can get to the allotment for your daily fresh air, had to laugh at your daring potato experiment on FB last night....i hope it pays dividends!
