WOYWW

Happy hump day.  So, what is on your workdesk this Wednesday?

Mine is a bit different this week.

When my Nan died and mum was clearing her stuff she came across lots of old x-rays that Nan had taken and rather than bin them asked if I would like them to craft/experiment with.

Needless to say I said yes.  Anyway I forgot I had them until I was in the room the other day and came across the envelope whilst having a tidy up (I know, and it's not even the first day of spring!!).

I am not sure what to do with them.  I was thinking of seeing if alcohol or thinner distorted the image in any way (a bit like citra solv does with magazine pages) and whether I could stitch through some of them or transfer the images.

Not really sure, have any of you got any ideas?  If so I would love to hear them.

As to my "Man Bites Dog" cards this week 'General Slays Romantic Lover'-cheerful!

Happy crafting
Kyla

  1. Oooerr...I think alcohol might melt through the films, but it's been an age since I worked with thick ones like this. If they aren't too brittle, I think theyd make great sewn pockets etc, and if the alcohol doesn't over damage them, you could add some colour!

  2. Morning Kyla. Hmmm. No idea what you could do with them - a bit like photo negatives, use as an aperture cover on something VERY arty?
    Take care. God bless.

  3. Perhaps you could add them as an overlay to a very bright background if it shows through the exposed areas. Sarah #31

  4. a true crafter never refuses anything, I accepted a hamper basket today at work! Hope you decide what to do with your x ray films...I like the idea of using alcohol ink or something on them to see what happens. Helen #1

  5. Maybe you could make a see through page in a journal or altered book and use the x-ray as the "window", or use it on a light box frame, with all sorts of macabre things around the border - would be great for Halloween! Have a great week, and thanks for sharing! Lindart #29 (PS hopefully this hasn't posted twice, I lost the first one!)

  7. I probably would put these over the top of some bright colours. They might work well as part of an art journal layout. =Have a very happy woyww and enjoy your crafting, Angela x11x

  9. Never throw anything away, someone gave me some cake boards a few weeks ago, I don't bake anymore but I may find something to do with them. Not sure about xrays some liquids may melt them. Like to see what you do with them though. Anickoana #5
