WOYWW

Once again it is hump day which can only mean one thing..."What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday" when many of us across the globe do the bidding of the lovely Julia and bare our desks in all their glory.  Sometimes clean (not mine), often messy with WIP's (Works in Progress), a floor (Helen) and many that leave me envious with space and organising skills that I only practise on Pinterest!!

My desk this week has the start of my August 365 Journal challenge...not sure why red and black maybe watermelon or lady birds?  Who knows it was just the colours I was drawn to-it usually works out ok though.

On the left is my now very dirty poundland (again) paint spreader pad that Shaz Silverwolf put me onto, spritz water on it and clean your stamps-just as good a job as those VERY expensive purpose made pads that cost over £10!

On someones blog last week they had some lovely postcards (sorry I cannot remember whose blog it was) and it prompted me to take photos of my postcard wall!

Yep, I love receiving as well as sending postcards SO much I have an entire wall dedicated to them in my craft room.  Some have been made, some are from my family on their travels

Some are from my penfriend in the states

and some are from my fellow Coven friend, Julie, who sent me random vintage postcards nearly one a day for a couple of weeks when I was in hospital and 2 years later she still sends me a random card (usually from the 1970's with a random Tommy Cooper joke often written on the back!). I keep them all as they are special and attach them to the wall.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are: 'Lawyer Attacks Mayor'....look out George Ferguson (our elected Mayor in Bristol)....the writing is on the cards!!!

Happy WOYWW

Kyla

  2. That's a great tip from Shaz! I love it when something does the job just as well and it cost a lot less :-)
Your postcard wall is great, there's some interesting ones up there. Do you keep them all or do you have a shuffle around every so often?

  4. Postcards are such a lovely gesture of ' you were on my mind' and the romance of other places, love em. Not surprised you have a wall full, what a great display missus.I'd opt for watermelon; another of my favourite things and your page is just can already!

  7. Hi Kyla, pleased you are as happy with the Poundland scrubby as I was! I got some heat resistant baking sheets from there too- they're about 3 ft x 18", work just like the Ranger craft mat- if you need it bigger you can always tape a couple together. Awesome postcard display, somewhere(lol) we have loads we've picked up as souvenirs from places we've visited. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #11 xxx

  8. The art journal spread that you are working on looks intriguing. I love your extensive postcard collection, and it makes me wonder what ever happened to the one I had as a child. Blessings!

  9. I'm always glad to find a cheaper alternative. They like to put a premium on craft specific products. I do love my Stampin' Scrub though and it's ideal in class. Great cards. We're looking forward to a trip to Bristol to hunt the Shauns :-)

  10. That paint spreader looks handy, I'll have to grab one of those and the non stick sheets are brill for swirling mists on and then dragging card through. Great postcards and I love the idea of Tommy Cooper jokes too, what a great pal.

  13. Great collection of postcards and love the idea of the stamp scrubber. Yes I am one of those crafters who spent quite a bit of money buying the "special" stamp scrubber!!!! Hopefully I will learn from my mistakes. Have a lovely week.
