WOYWW

Here we are again, the familiar call of 'Wednesday?  Already?'

So, on my desk this week is my 2 part moulding putty and some moulds.  The one on the bottom left is a bought one, it makes a nice deep oval, the round metal pendant on the silver scales lid (to keep it flat) is from Ali Craft, the blue ones are the new mould I have made from a key plate (not sure if this will work as its quite detailed) and a long thin pendant from the side of the black domino in the picture.  The 3 black ones at the front are actually silicon moulds from poundland!!  They work a treat!

To try out my new moulds I have mixed up some resin and tomorrow (or maybe later tonight as I am a bit impatient!!) will be able to see if the moulds work OK.

So, if you would like a snoop around desks, please pop over to the lovely Julia's blog (link over on the right), they are a friendly bunch (though there are some freakishly clean desks...and one or two that are SO overflowing with creativity that you cannot even see the floor!!).

Happy Crafting

  1. Moulds and resins sound like a lovely, messy mix to me! I know for a fact that if I tried to do that, I'd end up covered top to toe in the stuff :D

  4. The resin isn't something I have ever tried but I've seen lovely results with it. Lucky you with your poundshop moulds - don't you just love a bargain? Now my desk isn't freakishly clean so I'm not sure where that leaves me - for my money the best one this week is #65 do pop in for a look if you haven't done so already. Or visit me if y ou have time! Happy WOYWW Cindy #67

  5. I love mould making! It's the most fun. Have you tried Friendly Plastic pellets? They are great fun to make things from, using your moulds, and can be coloured with loads of different media. I find the DIY silicone putty moulds pick up every tiny detail most faithfully, with great results! A fascinating desk this week!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I've got to wait a couple of months for my pencils, but happy anticipation!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  6. I wasn't sure if you'd linked on Julia's blog as I couldn't find you, so had to come via my comment section!

Love your space this week - good luck with the moulds!

    Thanks for stopping by.

  7. Hope your new moulds work as well as you hope. I have done done any moulding since I was a child and bought the red rubber moulds for plaster of paris models. That was fun, but not very sophisticated. Thank you for your visit and your kind comments. Have a good week. xx Maggie #2

  8. ohoooo why do other people's desks look so much more interesting that mine!?? They always look creative when mine looks messy!! Resin!! Now yes I HAVE played with that in making my little houses years ago...great fun, but expensive! I'm guessing by the 'coded' message you found the hidden digi!! hehehe... I thought I was following from ages back, but I seem to have gone walk-about..so I'm back now Have a great crafty weekend, Happy late WOYWW
