A new technique

As some of you may know I belong to Bristol Urban Sketchers.
A couple of meet ups ago I was chatting to a very talented young lady who was using oil pastels and tissue paper to create a sort of print impression.

I was so impressed I remembered that I have some oil pastels and tissue paper at home so thought I would have a go.

First I coloured the tissue paper with oil pastel

then I used a biro to sketch my design onto the tissue paper

then you lift the paper to reveal the picture.
I really like this effect and its something I think I will experiment more with.

Scrap card

Hello peeps, if you popped over to my desk on Wednesday you would have seen these cards in the making phase.

I managed to grab a few minutes the other evening to finish them, so I am pleased with that.

I quite like these cards as they are good for both men and women.

I remember going into an expensive boutique shop in London last year and actually found the company that makes the toiletries they use this tissue paper for.

That is the great thing about supporting scrap stores, a lot of the paper products come from a vast array of companies making packaging products for companies all over the country.

All I know is that their products were REALLY expensive (unlike the tissue paper which cost me pennies for about 50 sheets).

A quick and easy card

Just a quick update on my latest card.

The background is actually tissue paper (covered in, I presume fake advertising) that I bought for £1 at the scrap store for about 1" thick of A4 sheets-bargain!

I then stamped a greeting (masking the flowers off the stamp as I didn't think it suited the card) and inked the greeting with distress ink which I flicked water over to lift off some of the colour.

I then matted and layered it on black card.

A nice quick and easy card.
