WOYWW

Hello peeps, hump day again so that means sharing "What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday" where across the globe we bare what is on our desks, sometimes clean and tidy sometimes in an arty state, but always interesting and often with some great tips on storage, techniques and some "enabling"!!
Full details on how to join can be found here

On my desk this week are my tags.  Every year I take part in Inktober of 31 days of 31 drawings.  There are prompts (or you can do your own thing) and the past few years I have done mine on tags so I can hang them from the top of my desk and look back over them.

This year is a bit different as my mate pointed out that there is also a Discworld one (Disctober).  As a massive Pratchett fan I decided to join in this too. Some I have done on the back of the tags (they have their own list of prompts) and a few I have combined into one tag.

No idea if I will make it through the month with both but lets see!

Last week we were lucky enough to finally get some time off work and went away for a couple nights (first time since February) down to Devon.  Whilst it did chuck down we were also blessed with a lovely warm day on the beach, with a picnic.  I sat there sketching and also painting and abandoning some pebbles for other to find along the beach and gardens.  It was so lovely to be away for a few days.

Hope you are all well and looking forward to seeing your desks

Kyla

  1. That's so awesome about Disctober, I hadn't realised that, though it was part of Inktober. I shall have to have a further look - hope the Librarian makes an appearance sometime ;-)

  2. Cute rock LOL!
Drives me crazy it is SO HARD to find the large luggage tags over here, that you can buy in big boxes for not very much on the USA. I bought some from amazon once, and there was something not quite right about the photo. I saved it and sure enough when they came, they were not "manila", that buff colour, but a dull and dirty grey, more like your rock. I complained and the seller had actually changed the photo on the listing - sneaky! Lucky I had saved it as was able get a refund. Your tags look quite nice, if not quite the colour I am looking for. Hubby is quite annoyed that I have thieved a number of manila folders from the file cabinets to cut up into tags.... DOH! Sorry I missed you last week!

    Happy WOYWW!

  3. Hi Kyla. Love the rock!! How great - a few days away. Hope you were well pampered. Sounds like you enjoyed the time. I had two nights away at a friend in Lincolnshire in March - the week as lockdown started - but have not been away since then. After last year in the caravan this has come as a bit of a shock!!! All the bet with those tags.
    Take care. God bless.

  7. Kyla, good luck on your Inktober!! It's always a challenge, but I guess that's why we do it!! LOL We "artsy" people are so predictable like that! LOL I absolutely love your rock art and the sharing of that art with someone to come along and find! I am a firm believer that the "right one" will come by and find it and it serve a purpose for them at that time!! Such a lovely thing for you to do! Blessings, Felicia #27

  8. Disctober sounds great, and I am in need of something light to read, perhaps I should re-read those; I have most of the books. Your tags and the pebbles look fab - so glad that you were able to get away for a break. Helen #1

  9. Very cut rocks, pebble painting seems all the rage at the moment.. I read the rules for Inktober today and I was surprised that you don’t have to work in ink, so I may have a start tomorrow x Angel #25

  10. Good luck with your 'Obers"! Love that 'Be Different' rock. I have abandoned quite a few rocks over the years and love it when I find one. I have also abandoned ATCs - I always wondered if they just ended up in the bin!
