WOYWW

Happy hump day where we share What's on your workdesk Wednesday in all their glory!

After a brief absence I am back and as usual in October that means my main crafting is Inktober and this year also Disctober so once again my desk is looking similar.

I thought i would show a photo of a couple of the tags so far (they are all on my IG page and as usual I will post them all on here as one update at the end of the month)

The 'man bites dog' cards this week are odd "bored star hits angry singer!!" Well that would make a difference on the news after all the covid, manchester and election news!

Happy crafting

Kyla

  1. It's so good to see all the different types of crafts going on around the world... lots of genres I've never tried, I sometimes just wonder if I should spread my wings a little!
    Thanks for the snoop!

  2. Disctober? I don’t remember that! I love to see the variety that Inktober produces, you’re so disciplined to keep up! tags look great as a way to do it too, a nice firm wedge of art at the end is very satisfying. If the cards had any influence on the news, I could bear this prediction!

  3. Hi Kyla. Goodness - however do you keep up with all those tags? I don't think I have the disciplined way with me to do a month long challenge. Oh well, I'll just stick with individual bits and pieces...
    Take care. God bless.

  13. Thank you for your return visit, Kyla. I hadn't heard of Discworld and had to look it up. It has quite a cult following, doesn't it! I hope you will show us some of your results. So glad you like Tiny Carpet #5 - hope to get it finished by this Wednesday as I'm progressing quite well with the background now. To do the designs, I just mark out the finished size on the graph paper and then sketch in the shapes roughly, and fine it up from there, and centre any border or internal motifs and work outwards so the design is symmetrical. It's not too difficult really. I have to simplify the original rug design considerably, working at such a small scale - to get the same degree of detail would require more stitches, resulting in a much larger carpet, and I'm restricted to the 4 x 3 inches for the finished needle book covers. It's a bit frustrating not being able to get more detail in - one day I shall have to make some bigger ones, I think!

Funny you should mention a dehydrator. I have been thinking about getting one for several years too! Part of the reason I haven't got one is because I don't know where I'd put it! Also, I'm not sure how much I would use it and whether it would really be worth it in the long run. We don't eat bread every day so I'm not using the bread maker every week - slicing and freezing a loaf works best for us, as I can take out slices as and when we need it. I've got to run it again tomorrow, though. I'm going to get some different flours with my next wholefood order but that won't be for a while as I've just had a huge box delivered (weighed a ton)! No-knead artisan breads are all the rage these days. Glad you are having some success with it.

Hope to see you Wednesday for WOYWW.
