Hello peeps. This time I have stuff on my actual desk that I can show you (rather than half made gifts)!! I must admit to having hit a bit of a brick wall with the making of Christmas presents so decided to make some cards instead.
The eagle eyed amongst you may notice my rather nifty acrylic stickles holder on the right hand side of my desk. This was £1 from poundland and is meant for lipsticks etc. I swear that if this was in a craft store it would probably be closer to £5!
Also in full use is my tape gun that I won at the last WOYWW crop (I know...I never win anything yet still I enter the lottery every week!!) and now wouldn't be without as I use it all the time.
My bombshell stamps 50's pin up girl image is once again being given a hand drawn mini skirt and Santa hat at a jaunty angle with a little glitter thrown in (well, now I have my stickles to hand it seems a shame not to use them!).
This is the finished card. I love the 40's and 50's scene so bombshell stamps are always a winning combo for me.
My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week spell out "Cruel Lawyer Ready to Convict Hubby"....my own hubby couldn't believe I drew them out not only randomly but this time in order of the actual sentance!!
So do you feel ready to join the throng and have a legal snoop at desks across the globe all thanks to our lovely leader (yes I know Julia hates being called that....but without her starting this I would not have met so many people in real life and virtual with similar hobbies!!). There is a link over on the right....go on, you know you cannot resist for long!! :-)
Happy crafting
Kyla
She is one sexy Santa! I enlarged the photo for a good look at the desk. Glad your stickles stand is holding up and being used. Helen 8
ReplyDeleteYour bombshell looks fantastic - what an original idea. And talking of original ideas, what a good use of the lipstick stand! Happy WOYWW, and I hope you make headway with the pressies. Hugs, Chris # 15

That stickers holder is such a clever idea....and a bargain as well, woohoo! I'm trying to fit in Christmas crafting with playing with my band and accordion orchestra. Tonight is the only night this week that I'm at home!!

OOh err...bet she's been naughty! Love the text too. Your desk is awash. AM popping into town today and will be visiting that poundland..may have to gift one of these to each of the coven! Brilliant idea. Cor, those cards are amazing...never mind his disbelief at the sentence thing...did he look in any way shifty?!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat card and that is a nifty stickles holder. Your card shuffling is spot on.

ReplyDeleteNow that is the sort of Santa Hubby would like to see....the long hair does it for him! He hates short hair! Yeah I know.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea with the stickles. I keep mine upside down in a Fingers tin. I saw some in Wilkinsons and thought about buying another tin....for the tin of course not the biscuits! What we do for our craft habits ey!

What a bargain you have found in that stickles container, we don't have poundland here in Australia and I would be there in a flash if it was to get some of those containers. How funny to have pulled the cards out like that, what a fun thing to do. I really like you fun card for Christmas, naughty slightly but cute too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Belated WOYWW

OK, I know I'm one of the new kids on the block but I am going to have to check out these "Man Bites Dog" cards... what a hoot! :D I really love your finished card... I love the 40's and 50's and it would seem things are making a come back from that period. Now it's called kitch or however one spells it, lol! I am envying that lipstick turned stickles holder :D Sorry for getting around to your desk so late... I am indeed one of the tortoise in life :D
ReplyDeleteHugs and happy crafting... til next week...
