Woyww

Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. My desk this week is the dining room table. That's because.......i did some sewing!
I havent got my sewing machine out for ages. Our back door curtain lining ripped. It's full length glass doors so the sun coming in obviously aged them! The entire lining on both has started to disintegrate. i blame the sun....however, we have had these for best part of 20 years and before that they hung in my aunte and uncles house so they are probably best part of 30 yrs old!!
I think its too much of a faff to remove the entire lining and reline so I decided to do a bodge job and just sew it up and then swapped the curtains over so the mended one is no longer in the doorway that we open but against the other side of the door so it cant be seen easily and its not going to be blown about in the doorway etc so I reckon that will do, hopefully for another year, but we will keep our eyes out in charity shops for replacements eventually!! Hope you are all having an ok week and not too hot where you are. kyla

  1. You are the Make Do and Mend goddess! I love your clever solutions and try to do that too, when I can. Also, what a funky machine case :) Happy Knitting Day WOYWW

  3. I can’t decide whether to do a bodge job on the three pair of curtains in our living room or let someone else shorten them or leave them the length they’ve been for the past 16 years 😂😂

  4. We have been in our house for 35 years, we still have the original curtains that were left in the lounge. I like them and there seems little point in changing them. We did look at replacing them, but the cost of a pair of full length curtains 😲. Happy WOYWW. Angela #12

  8. Nothing like a make do and mend. Our curtains are becoming thread bear and I keep patching up, really ought to think of replacing but.....you know. Hugs BJ#5
