WOYWW

Hello fellow WOYWWers.  Sorry I haven't been able to return to all those that visited me or indeed blog recently but I am back!

On my desk this week is a card I am making from my scraps box.  You know, that box that a lot of us have...the one that seems to only get bigger.  It reminds me of a classic book from my childhood about the porridge pot that was always full!!

Under the card is a sheet of scrap paper to protect my newly replaced cutting mat from the distress ink (I bought the mat over a year ago but couldn't bring myself to use it until I realised my old one was so warped my cutting was even more wonky!).  The scrap paper is an old poster for one of my husbands gigs-no waste here!

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week-'Nude 340lb Priest Bites Cop'.........well, that is a vision I don't think I can get out of my head very easily!!

So, it's Wednesday, why not bare your workdesk (just don't pose in the nude...that's a WHOLE different website!!).

Happy WOYWW
Kyla

  1. I think we all do that, hang on to things and eventually use them and think, why did I wait so long... not a pleasant picture painted by your MBD cards today... happy WOYWW Helen #?

  3. like you Kyla I have a bag of scraps left over from scrapbooking. They do come in handy for cards & my grandson looks through the bag when he's here crafting with me so nothing is wasted.

  5. Just wondering how your old mat got warped? Did you get heat near it? They don't seem to like that. Or did you store it on its end? They don't like that either? Just curious.
BJ was #4, then #16 finally #17 but may end up as #15 if my incorrect links are removed!

    1. BJ.....I am a messy crafter and use everything from resin through to metal....they are stored flat and I use an abuse them so they only last me about three years. Apart from my extra large fabric cutting mat....which is exclusively for fabric so had lasted me years.

  7. Like you, I don't think I will get the MBD image out of my head for a while!! Good to start the day with a giggle. I have so much stuff and I still find myself dithering about using things - makes no sense! But I guess all crafters are hoarders at heart. Happy Wednesday, Cindy #29

  9. Oh yes I don't waste things here - mainly boxes - I get the idea I can reuse them but then they stay under my desk! Love the cards hehe Take care Zo xx 35

  10. Hi Kyla, totally with you and the scraps bin. I moved mine to a drawer behind my desk so that I'd use them, not working though. I rarely seem to have a piece of scrap big enough for what I want! Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #8 xxx

  12. Ha ha ...the words... no I don't want to imagine those either!

The box of paper never seems to get any smaller does it? Mine seems to grow over night. Hope you show us what you make with the bits and pieces.

  13. Hi Kyla, as usual your Man Bites Dog phrase gave me a giggle though that is an image to conjure with, for sure :) And, yes, I have a scrap box that seems to fill up faster than I can use them up. Look forward to seeing the finished card. Have a great week. Elizabeth x #31

  14. Those Man Bites Dog cards are intriguing! And what an image! I have several of those never ending boxes, I divide them into paper, metal, and asstd, and they're all full to the brim! Good idea to dig through them! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #57

  15. After one of the lessons this week I went through my "collage" fodder and reorganized. I now have small pieces, medium pieces and half sheets in addition to my drawers with items by color. I then put all of my faces into one place. Eyes, noses, mouths, male and female. Let's see if that works better.

    Thanks for sharing
