Sorry for missing last weeks post and return visits but the pay the bills job has stepped up a gear and meant precious little time for crafting let alone blogging.
This week saw my ATC's from the 6th Anniversary swap arrive.
The top two are from Bev in Canada (www.bunnysgirls.blogspot.ca) she said she couldn't decided which to send so sent both! Thanks Bev, I particularly like the saying on the butterfly one "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty"
The bottom one is from Jill and though it doesn't show it in the photo it has an amazing background glitter to the card, thanks ladies.
So, my desk is a cheat as it is empty (apart from actual work) but the kitchen is filled with the heady scent of Elderflower Cordial making.
I make several batches each late spring and it signifies to us that summer is almost upon us. It is great just with water, hot or cold, nice in a G&T, cider or even added to stewed fruit. I also give bottles as gifts (I took one to the WOYWW crop for LLJ and Julia) and it keeps remarkably well. It takes 5 days to steep, but it is worth it.
My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week (if you remove the final S off the word Stuns) reads like a headline from one of the red top newspapers!!!
I hope you all have a fabulous, crafty week.
Happy crafting
Kyla
Great ATC's and Bev's link doesn't work just takes you to no where .
ReplyDeleteThanks for saying what that was it sounds delish once it's made
hugs Nikki 1
great to see the cards again - and you of course! Love the atcs you received from your swappees. Helen 3
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely ATCs. They are stunning. I've got another friend whose son made some Elderflower Cordials. Here, we concentrate on the berries, but I suspect the flowers would make a potent drink. Thanks for showing it.
ReplyDeleteLoved the Man Bites Dog this week. It's hilarious. Happy WOYWW from # 5.
Glad the atc arrived ok. Happy woyww jill #12
ReplyDeleteI can attest to the gorgeousness of your elderflower cordial.....tis lush :-P. although steeping in the bucket, it doesn't look that appetising to be honest!! How boring that the day job is keeping you from crafting, that's just not on........
ReplyDeleteHope you are ok,
Hugs, LLJ 8 xxx
Hi Kyla, happy WOYWW...nice ATCs and even nicer elderflower cordial...I suppose elderflowers grow in Australia I honestly don't know but I love it when people make their own "preserves". Have a great day Cheers RobynO#16
ReplyDeleteLOL I have to agree with Jan, looking at the bucket isn't very inspiring! I have just had a couple of weeks off and although I have been ill for most of it am dreading going back to work - I know the net few weeks will be cutting into my crafty time, it's my busiest time of year, so I can sympathise. What a nuisance it is to have to pay those bills! Great ATCs, Happy WOYWW (good news about October!!) Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteYumm, elderflower cordial.... my fav! I've never made my own though. (Always bought it in the farmshop). I must look and see if it grows here in southern Spain.
ReplyDeleteI love the ATCs, especially the butterfly one (the quote is good too).
Your Man Bites Dog made me smile. I have missed your 'headlines'.
Have a great week,
Lisca#18
Hi Kyla, that cordial sounds delicious. We have a Black Elderflower in the garden, which has lovely pink flowers, instead of the usual white one. Love the ATC's haven't they all been amazing? Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #15 xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat ATC's and your elderflower cordial looks very interesting and sounds delish in a G & T.
