Woyww
Happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. been a hectic week but last night i did an online self portrait class with the artist Jake Spicer. was really interesting exploring the different techniques (including not looking at your drawing, whilst drawing)
was interesting just looking at the picture you were copying and not what your pencil was doing.
then you marked the key points such as eyes etc and then lightly erased it all
before we had a go at self portrait! doesn't look to much like me, but it's a person so happy with that!!

Happy too hot WOYWW
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I recall doing that kind of drawing in middle school - mine always looked a mess while yours is pretty identifiable as a human LOL! Like I told Jan - ATC packaged and ready to go, just awaiting the Hubster and a trip to the PO!

Good grief Kyla, not looking at what you’re drawing must be hard! I think you did a great job, and in both cases, you and the photo you were working from, there’s a likeness. Good job I say!
ReplyDeleteI remember doing a similar technique in A Level Art, it’s quite freeing once you don’t care too much what the finished product looks like! I think you did brilliantly actually xx. Hope this heat calms down, it’s not good, I’m watering at 10pm, poor old plants are so thirsty.

That’s a great portrait, though the technique sounds daunting.
ReplyDeleteStay cool and happy WOYWW

I think you did great. I can't draw if I am looking at what im doing, never mind without .... hope your allotment is surviving. Happy woyww Helen #1
ReplyDeleteWell done, that's an intersting technique. You quite obviously enjoyed it and great results too. Happy creative woyww, Angela x10x
ReplyDeleteThat is so hard! I've done it before but not with something as hard as a face! I think I did a coffee cup. But you did a fantastic job, well done! Have a great week, keep cool if you can, Lindart #11🍧🍨
ReplyDeleteSuper portrait - I've still to have a go at all the portrait sessions from my last Expo. I did a single line one but it was horrid. Hugs Bj#2
