Woyww

happy What's on your workdesk Wednesday. finally we got rain yesterday and showers for the rest of this week. i missed last week as i was london for a few days so all this week outside of work its catching up in the allotment. so my desk is my plot!
before london we picked 2.5kg black currants and made blackcurrant vinegar. whilst we were away more ripened so I am picking more. I cut back the stalks and pick the fruit off as that saves a job of cutting them back. I will freeze these later today as I am making bags of frozen mixed fruit to add to my porridge throughout the winter.
I have also picked the last of the broadbeans (to be frozen), the start of the runner beans, salads that are almost finished (i planted them over winter) courgettes, onions, nasturtiums, potatoes and more sweet peas. still lots to do and I will pick rhubarb, the last of the raspberries and harvest the potatoes, but for now i ran out of time! happy days kyla

  2. I’ve been doing much the same, picking potatoes, onions, radish, beetroot and celery leaf, very satisfying! Hope London in all that heat wasn’t too unbearable…

  3. Oh blackcurreant viegar sounds interesting. I remember when raspberry vinegar was all the rage - can't think why now! But looks like you are on your way to a bumper summer crop. Love seeing this every year :)

  5. Well done, it all looks great. I've grown a few things in our raised beds and they've done okay. I've got some Cos lettuce and it's gone mad. I keep pulling some off but some of them are about a mtre high but still taste lovely. Happy woyww, hugs Angela x10x

  6. Great harvesting! We haven’t seen runner beans in the shops, I wonder if they are in short supply? I am guessing you had to do a lot if watering. Happy WOYWW. Angela. #11
