Woyww

Happy hump day, this was my desk last night. I am on my 2nd batch of drying herbs for winter use. Swiss mint, marjoram, lemon balm and lavender. This time of year the airing cupboard is crammed full of herbs drying, it smells divine when i walk past!

In case Maryanne was wondering i remembered my 'Man bites dog' cards this week!! 'Actor snubs blonde hero again'! In case your wondering i tend to randomly pick up to 6 cards and don't use them all unless it makes sense!

Looking at me is a vase of sweetpeas, lavender, lemon balm and mint picked from the garden

I also recently made another batch of rhubarb and ginger jam, delicious even if i do say so myself!
And this is the allotment at the moment, over 20lb of strawberries picked! Just picked the last of the season and the last broadbeans too.

This is a usual daily harvest at the moment, lettuce, radish, herbs and my first courgette of the season.

So, what's on your workdesk this Wednesday?

  1. Wow. Your harvest is amazing! And 20lbs of strawberries? My daughter would be in HEAVEN - she loves them so much. I'm thinking we should coordinate. We each pick three and make the best headline in our comments... I tend to do 4 but it often results in no solid headline at all. And once a card comes out it goes face up on the bottom of the pack so I don't get a chance to have it again. I may need to rethink my process...

    Happy Desk Hopping!

  2. I know they aren’t there for show, but don’t the nasturtiums make your garden bounty look like a pro phot shoot! 20lb of strawberries is a marvellous result, crikey how lovely. Also a really pretty colour combo in the vase. The MBD cards are prolly totally accurate in someone’s current life!

  3. Good moening! Lovely garden shots. I do love the smell of herbs drying. Reminds me I need to pick the last of the honeysuckle blossoms this morning. I have no luck with strawberries. Hoping putting them in a raised bed will help next year. Happy Gardening & Creative Blessings! Kelly #25

  4. What a great show of strawbs you have had, if I had a bigger garden or plot i'd be sure to grow so much more. I'm drying herbs out too I agree the smell is divine. Nothing like your own to add to our homemade meals.

  5. I am in total awe of your herbs. And I love the look of your daily veggie picks. You certainly won't go hungry. I would love to find a lavender that overwinters in my area. And I have several mints, but no Swiss mint. I walk by my basil and dill and they smell divine. I'm also in awe of all the jam you made and all the strawberries you picked. Happy WOYWW from # 6.

  10. My word, Kyla, what a productive garden and kitchen this week! I can just imagine the gorgeous aroma of herbs drying, and there is something so satisfying about seeing rows of jars of preserves, especially if the produce came from your own garden. Our rhubarb is producing beautifully now (new crowns last year) and my goodness it will soon be time for the onslought of apples again! That makes me feel a bit weak inside... The freezers are full at the moment so I hope I can find room for them all! Last year we had a bumper crop.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
