Hello peeps, hump day so that means What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday where we share our desks across the globe.

On my desk this week appears to be paper bags!  Well, they are, upcycled paper bags BUT filled with fresh herbs from my garden that I collect and dry throughout the summer for use in the winter.

We are getting to the end of the season so this is probably my last harvest of them (well apart from the sage which is evergreen BUT I needed to cut it back).  So I have dried swiss mint, sage, golden tipped marjoram and oregano.  In fact I had SO much sage I placed several large bunches on wall outside with a "Free sage" sign and it all went, so pleased with that.

This is the result of the past few months of drying.  I also have some lemon balm and another mint.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Missing DA Rehab Scam'!!!  Well that makes you wonder!!

So, What's on your workdesk this week? Full details are on the Queen of Desks blog Julia, here

  1. Very impressed with your dried herbs - and with the fact that the sage on the wall was taken!
    Happy woyww! Susan #8

  2. Well, my desk is certainly not drying herbs! Big fan of oregano, rarely use sage, must make an effort to investigate it a bit!

  3. You've inspired me to get out and trim my oregano (oo-er Missus!) Actually I have a lot of marjoram too and rosemary - have just been given a hyssop plant by a friend, have never had one before!

  4. Morning Kyla. That's just brilliant - your food is going to be wonderful all winter long! Well done on the freebies as well - the best of ideas!
    Take care. God bless.

  5. I love your idea of the herbs. I rarely use many. Have a good week Helen #1

  6. Did I ever tell you I bought a set of MBD cards at the charity shop? You may recall I was always a big fan and I have to admit I was ken to see what the offering was this week. And it's a good one! Big fan of paper bags too, of the lunch bag variety. Funny, feels like I have never been away...

    Happy WOYWW

  7. Hi Kyla, you really seem to have a knack with Sage, lol. Great way to pass on excess by putting it on the wall. I have lemon balm that needs some work, love it but it spreads like nothing on earth! Stay safe, have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 X

  8. Hi Kyla, now that's a different use for your desk. Well done with the herbs. Sending you a happy woyww hug, Angela x16x

  9. I bet it smells lovely on your desk Kyla, i'm hoping for a garden full of herbs eventually. I have small areas of herbs in my front garden but they have never amounted to much but the lavender does thrive with many years of harvest enjoyed. Carry on the great work, I may be picking your brain come spring next year. Happy WoywW Tracey #6 xx

  10. Your dried herbs are brilliant, Kyla. I'm ashamed to say that yet another year has gone by and I haven't got round to doing that. In the past I used to hang them up but it wasn't that great. Can you tell me how you dried yours? I must do it next year...

Thank you for visiting my blog last week, and sorry to be so long replying! Pantry envy lol! I didn't know what Nooch was and had to look it up - I use nutritional yeast all the time and never knew it was also called that. You live and learn. It gives a nice cheesy flavour, doesn't it. So glad you enjoyed seeing the embroidery. I'm thrilled to be able to wear that locket, too.

Happy very belated last week's WOYWW and happy this one!!

  11. Wow ~ I love your jars of herbs! I grow several and use them fresh, but haven't tried to dry them yet. That might have to be a goal for next summer ~ Blessing to you

  12. Love the dried herbs Kyla. I must have a go at that, it would save me a fortune lol. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3

  13. So lovely to harvest your own herbs. I bet they smell lovely too. #27 Angela
