WOYWW

Bit of a different desk, this time it is my dining room table as I am sewing!
Well, by sewing I am mending a free shopping bag.  The bottom hem and fabric was starting the rip open and the fabric run so rather than bin it I quickly added a new hem making the bag about an inch shorter but still functional!

I know it is only a free bag and I have had it for a couple years at least but it is brilliant because it is so light and folds up to a small drawstring which I added a caribiner so I can hang it from my coat/jeans when I am doing a dailywalk in case I need a bag!

See, so small!  I always look out for these when I see a freebie stall in town!
So, what is on your Workdesk this Wednesday?

  1. Well look at you being Pollyanna! I have a bag that draws up like this too...I hate to admit how useful it is because it was a present from LLJ ! I must say that the drawstring part of it is the best...not so easy to find now, most reuse bags are in their own ‘pouches’ which means you have to fold them vaguely correctly to fit them back in. Lazy aren’t I?!!

  2. I always carry a small shopping bag of some sort too. It never ceases to amaze me when I'm shopping, the number of folk that have to buy a bag. Particularly when you think that Wales charged for plastic bags years before England did!

  4. Very sensible to mend the bag. I have one very similar to this and they are so tiny when they are enclosed that it's really easy to keep it with you. Wishing you a happy crafty woyww, Angela x12x

  6. I need to get my sewing maching out to put up some curtain hems... sewing is a necessity in my house... not a love. LLJ is so good at it and inspires me lots... but never enough to try my hand at the things she makes. Great little bag, love the fact that you rescued it! #18

  7. What a fantastic bag - all my ones are the sort that Julia mentioned, the ones that tuck into their own bags and need careful folding. The drawstring is so much better. Happy WOYWW. Have a lovely week, with love and God Bless, Caro xxx (#20)

  10. That's so cool. Well done rescuing the bag. Make do and mend, and recycling gives so much satisfaction. I's always handy to have a bag because you never know when you'll need one. I love "Mendip Xplorer"!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
