Woyww

Slightly different 'desk' this week......my kitchen! I am dehydrating again. The other week I dehydrated several pounds of foraged apples for use over the winter months and now i am making dehydrated courgette crisps which I have sprayed with rapeseed oil and cider vinegar. once they have dried i will sprinkle a little salt over and hopefully that should do us as crisps for lunch for the next week.
after using the oven to dry and realising it was something I enjoyed, a few years ago I spent out on a dehydrator and am pleased I did as I use it all year round. No 'man bites dog' cards this week as they are upstairs!!
and I am still catching up with Inktober too!! I will get there in the end, nothing says I have to do it before the end of the month! kyla

  1. I’m not a gadgety person but if you use something all the time then it’s worth the investment! That’s probably the best way to eat a courgette, I’m not a fan normally….bet the apples are nice though, great idea for storing them for the winter and take up less space in the freezer too. Have fun with the Inktober pages!

  2. That sounds like a fab gadget. My fav piece of equipment is my air frier....its one with shelves in so works like a small oven but far more efficient and I love it.

  4. That's an interesting piece of equipment. I have made crisps before but in the microwave but if you make them quite often that would be really useful. Happy woyww with hugs, Angela x9x

  5. That’s a good gadget for you as you get so much produce from your gardening. Your courgette crisps sound fab. I love your Inktober drawings.

  7. Courgette crisps sound good. I have bought vegetable crisps before, but I found them hard to eat. We have a lot of apples in the freezer as someone was giving them away. I do love a crumble! Hugs Angela #10

  8. I'm all for getting the gadget if you're going to use it a lot. Otherwise it's pig gin house room and money being taken up....there's a dehydrate function on my air fryer which I did some apples with but it's a noisy gadget and a long process, and I ended up steaming and freezing the majority just to get them done!!

  9. Gosh I wish I had thought of this when we still had windfall apples all over the ground. We do have a dehydrator (gifted from a friend who got a better one) and after making a huge batch of apple butter I could have made use of more of them. Next year for sure :) Adorable Inktober - love following this every year :)
    Happy +1 day WOYWW
