May 365 Journal

A few days off work (and lighter evenings) means that I got a bit of extra time to craft this week (hurrah) and I managed to finish my 365 Journal I started a couple of weeks ago.

I added some gold mica sprayed and flicked across the page but it doesn't show up
in the photo.

I coloured the page with dylusion sprays and added stamped flowers which I coloured with watercolours.  I then added the details with posca pens (I love these as they are SO versatile as they can be used on paper, wood, glass, fabric etc).

All ready to start filling in.

Cards with Masterboards

I made some masterboards recently and have gotten round to making my first couple of cards with them.

I decided to only use a slim strip of one of the masterboards for the first card, matting and layering it on holographic card and adding a stamped sentiment.

For the second card I matted and layered it on the same holographic card but cut 4 identical squares and added a stamped sentiment with embossing powder.

Two cards down and I still have about 3/4 of the first sheet to use up, I just need to wait for inspiration to hit for the next card design.

Woyww

Running late today as a day off but been up since before 7am washing, sorting out stuff before the rain that's forcast hits then I can hit the craft room as, well, it is a day off and most chores hopefully will be done by late morning.

I did manage to take a quick photo of my desk today.
My "man bites dog" cards well, 'killer mourns fake heiress!'
Let's see how that develops!!!

Short and sweet, if you care to share pop over to Julia's desk here

Masterboards

Decided to have a play and make a couple of masterboard's as not done that for way too long and whenever I pop over to fellow WOYWWer Angela blog I am always blown away by her use of them.

So I started by spritzing Dylusion sprays and Adirondack colour washes over some card, splashing water and allowing it to dribble

Then when the inks were dry I spread some multimedium pastes through some sentcils (I usually make a texture paste from white glue and cornflour but I had some pastes that have been open for a LONG time so needed using up)

I spritzed them with a little water to help the base colour bleed into the paste a little

Now I have a couple of masterboards I can use and with the bonus of using some old stash up too-result!

WOYWW

Welcome to What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday where we all pop over to the lovely Julia page and bare our desks.  I have missed a couple of weeks as the "pay the bills" job has been hectic and not allowed any time for self care let alone crafting!

BUT I have managed to do a little crafting (this photo was taken on Sunday afternoon as it was wet and an ideal opportunity).  This is the next page in my 365 Journal for May.

My "Man Bites Dog" cards this week are 'Teen Sues Singer'!  ooh!

So, do you fancy joining us and showing your desk, empty, full, messy, clean, mid flow or covered in ironing/paperwork etc?  If so pop over here and link up-easy.

Craft fair haul

Thursday saw me take a day off work and spend a lovely day with the Coven at the Craft 4 Crafters event, a whole day with likeminded people, craft classes and stash.

I was VERY restrained and bought items on my list, card blanks and cello bags (as I have almost run out), a guitar die (forgot to take a photo) and some magnetic sheets (as I store all my thin dies in a homemade ring binder on these sheets.

Then I came across a stall (sewing-sanctuary.com) selling cotton backed laminated fabric, think, robust yet flexible-I am thinking messenger bag or wash bag-only £4 for a fat quarter so I bought these two as I fell in love with the designs (they were NOT on my list!)

I also bought from the Weston Super Mare quilters stall this pen/pencil holder which fits perfectly on my urban sketchers book (and it was only £3 and all for charity!)

We also signed up for a glass bunting class, it was with the same company we made the glass hanger last year (Glass Garden Studio)

It took 1.5hrs and we came away with a lovely piece of handmade bunting

Which in the end I decided to hang across the top of one of my bookcases (just below a fabric doll I made with Coven a few years ago).

A great day out and I do love glass making, over the years I have made a window hanger, blown a paperweight, blown a hanging glass bauble and now bunting-happy days.

Brusho's

Happy Easter!  Hurrah to a bit of time off work!  That means I have more time to experiment and play in the craft room (I have caught up on the housework and ironing).

So I decided to have a play with my brusho's again.  I still only have two, grey and Moss Green but I love the multiple colours you get from them.

I wetted the card first then sprinkled the brusho's on top and spritz water again allowing them to drip across the page.

This is the moss green with lovely shades of orange and rust tones.

Whilst the Grey has oranges, purples and blues too!

I am thinking of making a masterboard with brusho's-I just need to think about what else to use eg stamps etc-time to peruse Pinterest I think!!!
